KFC Spicy Mac & Cheese and Honey BBQ Wrap Review

KFC wraps were added to the menu in early 2023 as a number of fast food restaurants have tried to replicate the success of the discontinued, but set to return, McDonald’s snack wraps. They originally came in three flavors: Classic, Spicy Slaw, and Mac & Cheese. To ring in 2024, KFC added two new wraps to the menu, Spicy Mac & Cheese and Honey BBQ, which I decided to try.

I did not expect much from these wraps, but when I received them they were smaller than I expected. The reminded me a bit of the Chicken Little sandwiches that KFC sells, and seem to use the same small chicken tender. The wraps came as a pair for $5.00, and are also available in a combo that comes with a side and a drink.

When I looked at the wraps and took my first bites, the first thing I noticed is that there is very little filling in the wrap outside of the chicken tender. There was a small amount of Mac & Cheese in one wrap and a pickle with mayo noticeable in the other wrap. In both wraps, the filling was only on a small section of the wrap and not as plentiful as expected.

The flavor of the chicken was that of a normal KFC chicken tender, which is just fine, but nothing spectacular. KFC normally has bland Mac & Cheese, and this was noticeable in the Mac & Cheese wrap as it was almost flavorless. A small amount of spicy sauce was added, but it had the same problem as many spicy fast food items in that it barely provided any heat or flavor. The Honey BBQ Wrap fared similarly as the main flavor was from the singular pickle and there was barely any BBQ sauce on it.

All-in-all, this was a pretty disappointing meal. I feel like I would have been better off if I had just gotten a tenders box with a side of Mac & Cheese and BBQ sauce where I would have gotten more food and flavor.

2/10 – Disappointing and not filling
