Burger King Melt Review

The Burger King melt comes in three variations, but they all feature three 2 oz. patties and two slices of toasted bread instead of a bun. The first is the Classic Melt which has American cheese, fire-roasted onions, and Stacker sauce. The second is the Bacon Melt which is the same as the Classic, just with bacon added. The third is the Shroom n’ Swiss Melt which has Swiss cheese, roasted mushrooms, and Royal Onion Sauce. I tried the Classic Melt for this review.

The first thing to note is that the burger is the same size as a Whopper Jr. That is fine if you just want a normal lunch, but could be a bit small if you are really hungry. The burger itself came with a whole bunch of the fire-roasted onions, so you better like onions if you want to try the Classic. Every bite had a taste of the onions, which is not a bad thing since they were very flavorful. The burger also came with two slices of cheese, so the cheese was also noticeable in every bite. The meat is standard Whopper Jr. patties, so you know what you are getting there.

A heap of onions

The unique thing about this burger is the toasted bread, but it suffers the same issue as all warmed toasted bread in that it was soggy even though I ate the burger around five minutes after receiving it. The toast itself was bordering on unpleasant, and I wish it was either a conventional bun or actually toast-like. The bun is the reason I need to dock some points and am rating this a 8/10.
